Purchasing an Orienta Shiba Inu

Thank you for your interest in an Orienta Shiba Inu puppy.

Shiba Inu are beautiful, intelligent and deeply rewarding dogs, but they are not the right breed for every person or every lifestyle. Before applying for a puppy, we encourage all prospective families to take the time to learn about the breed, their temperament, independence, training needs and long-term care requirements.

We are always happy to answer genuine questions from people who are seriously considering whether a Shiba Inu is the right fit for their home.

All puppies are sold on limited register and are wormed, vaccinated, microchipped, health cleared and on strict desexing contracts.

Orienta Shiba Inu is a Dogs Queensland (ANKC) registered breeder.
Breeder Identification Number: 4100189418

If you have questions about availability, future litters or whether a Shiba Inu may suit your home, please contact us.

Dedicated care for Shiba Inu puppies at Orienta Shiba Inu, emphasising our commitment to their health and well-being.

Current Availability

Expressions of Interest are welcome.

Availability at Orienta is limited. We are a small preservation breeder and only breed occasionally, with each litter carefully planned and raised inside our family home.

If you are interested in an Orienta puppy, we invite you to complete our puppy application form. This helps us understand your home, lifestyle, experience and what you are hoping for in a Shiba Inu.

Submitting an application does not guarantee a puppy. Our priority is always placing the right puppy into the right home.

Our approach

At Orienta, puppies are not simply produced and placed.

Each litter is planned with care, considering health, temperament, pedigree, structure, breed type and the future of the Shiba Inu breed.

Our puppies are raised inside our family home from birth. For us, home-raised means more than being born inside. It means puppies continue to be part of normal household life as they grow, become mobile and begin exploring the world around them.

They are handled daily, observed closely and raised around children, people, household sounds and age-appropriate experiences. This helps us understand each puppy as an individual and supports thoughtful matching to suitable homes.

We believe a puppy’s earliest environment matters.

What is included with an Orienta puppy

Orienta pet puppies leave for their new homes with:

  • ANKC Limited Register pedigree

  • microchip

  • first vaccination

  • regular worming from two weeks of age

  • DNA parentage testing

  • full veterinary health clearance

  • written health / purchase contract

  • desexing contract

  • lifelong breeder support

Our support can be as much or as little as each family wants. Some families stay in regular contact with updates and questions. Others simply like knowing we are here if they ever need advice.

Either way, every Orienta puppy leaves with ongoing support from a breeder who knows them, cares about them and is committed to their wellbeing.

How much does a Shiba Inu cost?

Pet puppies are $6,000 on a desexing contract.

This reflects the care, planning, health testing, veterinary care, early raising, registration, support and commitment that goes into each Orienta puppy.

We understand that a well-bred puppy is a significant investment. We encourage prospective families to consider not only the purchase price, but the ongoing lifetime cost of owning a Shiba Inu, including food, veterinary care, grooming, training, insurance, boarding and general care.

Interstate transport

We welcome suitable homes Australia-wide.

Interstate transport can be arranged where appropriate and is usually between $200 and $450 depending on location, airline availability and current transport costs.

Approximate air transport guide:

  • Melbourne: around $300

  • Sydney: around $295

  • Hobart: around $410

  • Perth: around $450

Other locations are available on request.

Transport costs can change, so final pricing will be confirmed at the time of booking.

Adult Shiba Inu

Occasionally, we may have a mature Shiba Inu available to a carefully selected home.

Some of these dogs have given so much to our breeding program, the show ring and future generations of the breed. When the time is right, our hope is for them to have their own home where they can receive the love, attention and one-on-one companionship they deserve.

We care deeply about these dogs and will only place them in homes we feel are genuinely suitable.

If you are interested in an older Shiba Inu who is past the puppy stage, you are welcome to contact us for more information.

Before you apply

Before submitting an application, please consider:

  • Have you researched the Shiba Inu breed?

  • Are you prepared for an independent, intelligent and sometimes stubborn dog?

  • Do you have time for training, socialisation and daily care?

  • Is everyone in your household committed to welcoming a Shiba Inu?

  • Are you prepared for the long-term financial and lifestyle commitment?

Shiba Inu are not a breed to choose on looks alone. They are clever, charming, clean and full of personality, but they require patience, understanding and realistic expectations.

The Application Process

Our application form is the first step in expressing interest in an Orienta puppy.

Once we receive your application, we will keep your details on file and may contact you when we have puppies available or when we are planning a litter that may suit your preferences.

We also encourage prospective families to keep in touch. We regularly share updates through our website and social media, including planned litters, puppy updates and general information about our dogs.

It is rare for Orienta to have puppies immediately available. We are a small preservation breeder and only breed occasionally, so a wait may be expected - particularly if you have specific preferences around colour, sex or timing.
